This Father’s Day I want to thank my Dad and celebrate all of the good times we have spent together. One of my favorite memories with my Dad was going skiing up North. We always rode up to the top of the mountain and raced down to the bottom. I remember when I was 8 years old, I was riding up on the ski left and got too scared to get off. I remember they had to stop the entire lift and get a ladder to help me down. It was so embarrassing! My Dad helped me down the rest of the way and made everything okay. We’ve always had such a great time together–riding roller coasters, snorkeling on the Disney cruise and going on Daddy-daughter dates. He is so much fun to be around and such a great example to me. Thanks Dad!

I remember laying on my Dad’s chest while he’d be napping! I’d just lie there and stare at him. I was a tiny little kid then, so this wasn’t as creepy as it sounds :)

My favorite memory of my daddy is when he would tell the cheesiest jokes and start laughing halfway through and not be able to finish the joke! He passed away a little of 2 years ago, and every memory of him is my favorite now.

I remember when my dad would take me to the bowling alley with him when I was little. He would always buy me a package of mentos. To this day I can’t go through the grocery store check out, see those and not smile!

Early morning walks on the beach when we were on vacation when I was a kid. I would wait to hear him getting up and rush to join him. I love my Dad!

My first memory with my dad is one of my favorites. He took me with him to drive our new used car off the lot when I was 4 and I still remember how excited I was!

I was having a slumber party and we ran out of sodas. My dad put on his rain slicker and walked (we didn’t have a vehicle) up the road to get some.

My memory is actually as I’m now older. My dad was not around much growing up and wasn’t very affectionate. But as we’ve both gotten older, he is around more for family things and says I love you a lot more.

My dad used to repair tv’s on the side (before they got really complicated) so I always liked helping him in his shop. “Helping” :)

One of my favorite memories is as a family we watched the old school superman with Christopher Reeves. When it was all over my dad said “kids, I have something to tell you… I’m not really your dad… I’m superman!”

Let’s try this again! :) So many favorites, but the most memorable moment occurred when I was admitted to the hospital for per-term labor when I was only 20 weeks pregnant with my first child. My physician had come in to check on me, while my parents were visiting, and as the doctor was leaving the room my Dad quickly got up and followed him out into the hallway; he was trying to be discreet but I heard every word of his conversation! I’ll never forget him saying “Please do all you can to take care of my daughter; she’s going to be a great Mom and I can’t wait to meet Papa’s precious little girl!” We had tried very hard to get pregnant and this was his first grandchild, so he really wanted the doctor to know how important this baby was to our family. I was in the hospital for 12 more weeks, after that day, and my Dad spent many days keeping me company & counting down the days until we were in the “safe zone” for delivery! I’m very happy to say that Papa’s little girl just turned 14 and she’s inherited her Papa’s sense of humor! I’m truly blessed to have such a dedicated & loving Dad~Papa!

I remember swimming in the lake with my dad and squirming as fish swam back. He’d always give me “piggy back” rides through the water too.

My favorite memory of my dad is going to the beach with him, my brothers, and our grandparents. We’d go fishing and crabbing off the pier and then swim in the water, and then have sandwiches and a can of coke :)

My Favorite memory is my Father teaching me how to drive. When I crashed the car into the front porch I thought he would be so mad. He looked at me and laughed till he had tears streaming down his face. He said I never thought anybody could drive worse than your Mother. But I was wrong. I laughed so hard. I will never forget the day I learned that mistakes can be just as much fun as getting it right.
