I’ve been in the process of re-decorating my kitchen and decided I needed to create something simple and bold to go above my cabinets. I tried leaving the cabinets bare for a few days but I just couldn’t leave the top completely empty. So that’s when I decided to dig through my “stash” and see what I could put up there. I found this old cupboard I bought at Habitat Restore for $2 and knew the size would be perfect. Old cupboard doors work great for signs because they have a nice shape and come in many different sizes.
This sign was pretty simple to make and now I have another reason to eat more cake! ;)
Supplies:
- Cupboard door (I found mine at The Habitat Restore)
- Spray paint
- Vinyl or stencil
Instructions:
The first thing I did was spray paint the cupboard door black. I gave the board two good coats and then let it dry over night.
Next I printed out “Eat More Cake” with my CAMEO and then peeled away the access vinyl. I applied the transfer tape on top of the letters and then placed the vinyl sticker on the cupboard door. Then I pushed down the letters and it was complete.
You could also stencil or free hand your words on with paint to create a custom look.
That’s it! Pretty simple, right? I love how it turned out!
Psst did you see Silhouette is having a deal on vinyl?
Now through Friday you can get 40% off vinyl in the Silhouette store using code NAPTIME. Click here to shop.
The CAMEO (with all accessories) is on sale too. You can find the deal here. Just use code NAPTIME where it says “apply code” and it will take $75 off your order.
Happy crafting! I’ll be sharing another kitchen update tomorrow, so come by and check it out. :)
So what do you think?

Cute sign with adorable font. Do you recall the name of the font? I’m always looking for new fonts to use with my Cameo.
Jamielyn
Thanks Jennifer! I’m pretty sure that one was impervious. A few of my favorites are pharmacy, milk and cereal

Its acutally three dates, one night font. Not impervious. I just spent an hour looking for it.
