With the holidays just around the corner I find that organization is KEY in having a “stress free” holiday.

Once November hits I always create a holiday binder to keep all of my lists and receipts organized. It really does help me stay on top of things during the month of December. Some of the tabs in my binder include: Decorating, Christmas cards, Baking, Gifts, Parties and Receipts.

I also always have lists going and actually find joy in crossing things off my lists. Sometimes I’ll go back and add things to my list that I completed that day (like laundry, cleaning, etc.) just so I can cross them off. Do you ever do that? No? Okay maybe I’m the only one …

Back to getting organized! I may have a tad obsession with the Martha Stewart Home Office™ with Avery™ supplies which I received to review. One: I love to be organized. Two: the whole line is so CUTE!

When I saw that she launched a Holiday line at Staples I got super excited. Not only will I be organized this Christmas … but I’ll be organized in style. In the line she has everything you need to organize the perfect holiday.

I’ve already started my running to-do list in the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery notebook. I love the thick spiral on this book. Even though I have my super high-tech iPhone, I still find it easier to hand write my to-do list.

This year I pulled out all of my gift supplies and put them in one spot. I love these organizers because they keep all of my packaging supplies nice and tidy. It’s great for when I need to wrap a quick gift. I’ve got everything I need right in this box. It also keep the clutter off my desk.

I am also so excited to have all of my labels and tags ready to go. I love this whole Holiday Shipping line. The twine tags are my favorite. These holiday wrapping and shipping products are available in-store at Staples.

Of course you can’t forget the washi tape and ribbon. Every great package needs a little of both.

I’m really looking forward to wrapping presents this year. Everything is organized and ready to go.

Now I just need to finish the shopping …

You can purchase all the supplies found in this post at Staples. You can also find more information about the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery on the Avery Website. Feel free to connect with them on Facebook as well.

What keeps me most organized is the fact that I actually have to clean up the house/make it presentable for the holidays, and that I have two little kids to wrangle, so I need the putting up and taking down of decorations to happen FAST.

Definitely lists, but also starting early! I always start shopping in October (or earlier) so the month of December isn’t crazy and I don’t have to deal with the crowds. I have plenty of time to make sure everything on my list is not only done, but enjoyed and not rushed!

I have a little moleskine notebook that lives in my purse with all the lists necessary. The best organization, however, is a google document shared with my husband that we open at the start of the year to keep a running list of ideas of gifts throughout the year. It makes it much easier to come up with lists for our kids, as well as good ideas for gifting the rest of the family.

To stay most organized I start my shopping early, wrap the presents when I get home (hide them), and keep a record of what I bought for each person and how much I am spending. This keeps me from rushing and allows me to know exactly how much I am spending.

Color Coding Is my savior for staying organized during the holidays, I go multiple places and have numerous celebrations, do you know how hard it is to keep that all organized? (I live far away from family) I pick a wrapping paper per party and per location. None are similar, different color and theme, even my ribbons/bows are coordinated with which party/location it is going to. It makes getting out the door & not forgetting anything Sooooo much easier. … love getting to peek in on your blog!

As presents are hidden in several places from prying eyes, my husband and I keep a notebook of where we left gifts. The best part is we have specified codes we came up with for different areas, and create codes for the items in case the kids find the notebook. It’s like a puzzle sometimes trying to figure out what we meant. Always great for stress relieving laughs during the holidays.

I keep organized during the holidays by making a running list in my planner – noting who I need to buy for (and their wish list) and who I have bought for (what I bought!). I also make sure to keep my calendar updated – there are so many kid’s plays/performances, cookie parties, holiday events that it is crucial to keep a calendar with me at all times. I shop early and avoid the stress of those last minute shoppers. I also only venture out on Black Friday if there is a deal too good to pass up and then I am organized by knowing when the store opens, where the product is located in the store, and where the checkouts are located – to get in and out as quickly as possible. :)

My day planner is the thing that keeps me most organized – I started using one about 6 years ago after receiving one as a Christmas present from my mom- actually was kindof put out that she bought one for me then thought I would try it and the rest is history.

Sadly I’m not that organized! I wish! My craft room is now a nursery and all my wrapping stuff is in “organized” piles scattered on our pool table in the basement! for Christmas, I shop for one person at a time and wrap right away haha I’m embarrassed!

I have 1 master list I keep with me at all times, I never know where I’ll be when I see the perfect gift. Then I know what I have bought and for who. I also add new purchases as I buy them if they weren’t on the list. This has saved me from forgetting something I “hid” too we’ll and forgot about it. Also, just like “clean as you go” I wrap as I go. As soon as I can, it gets wrapped, labeled, then hidden if necessary. I learned this the hard way, after a couple of completely sleepless Christmas Eves.
