  4. A word of warning: never never never never never give love coupons! They have become synonymous with “I’m giving you a phoned-in ‘DIY’ gift because I’m cheap.” Think about it: how would you feel trying to redeem any of these coupons?

    1. Seriously? I *LOVE* love coupons! A thoughtful promise of services is far more meaningful than any purchased or even hand-crafted gift. My partner did a creative variant of this, making 12 pre-planned date nights and putting an itinerary of each into an envelope labeled for each month of the year. He’s also given more standard coupons and I have no qualms whatsoever cashing in coupons for cleaning my car when the clutter is out of control or maybe a period of watching whatever I want on TV with no one interrupting with questions or conversation. In a hectic household, these things are rare and extremely meaningful!!

  5. I use to think naptime was the best. I had a daycare for 13 years and I spent the full hour or two creating. I will be checking out a couple of your ideas and the Love Coupons are awesome. I did that for Jim about 20 years ago, it’s now coming up on 35 and think it’s time again. Thanks for sharing and even though it’s now 2014, I’m still commenting. Blessings!!
