Remember this little nightstand I found at Goodwill for $6 that I posted about here. I also gave you a sneak peak here when I talked about painting hardware.
Not so pretty…
Well 6 months later I am finally posting the night stand and desk. Sorry it too me so long. lol.
Here is the desk finished. I LOVE the blue. The color Robins Egg Blue by Valspar. A litte lot sanding, some prImer and 2 coats of paint made her charming again. I still need to paint the mirror, but that will be for another day. I’m thinking Black… what do you think?
I also gave my drapes a little makeover. They shrunk after I washed them from a little taco soup incident with my son’s friend (a.k.a. taco soup spilled across my entire floor, up the desk, Christmas tree, drapes and couch). I wish I took a picture. It was pretty hilarious..kind of. I guess it was pay back from my son breaking things at their house. ;)
I spray painted the rods black and added ruffle/ric rac trim to the bottom of the curtains. Let me know if anyone wants me to write up a tutorial.
Well it looks like nap time is over… I’ll post the rest of the room later tonight. :)
Happy Tuesday!

I'd love a tutorial on how you distressed your desk and end table. I wanted my daughters dresser to turn out like that and it didn't exactly. I could use a few pointers. Please!! I love the dark distressing and smudginess. Cute pink hammer!

You did a fantastic job!!

I would definatly say black for the mirror – it would pull it all together with the black drawer pulls on the desk.
Very creative!

I have the same nightstand that I grabbed out of someone’s trash pile while driving my son home from a baseball game (I think he about died of embarrassment). Mine is painted a weird crackly mustard yellow with flecks of brown and red. I think it was a DIY project gone horribly wrong. Anyway, I’ve been looking at it for weeks trying to decide what color it wants to be. I think it now wants to be blue. I’m so copying you! Thanks for the inspiration!
