So now that summer is almost over I’ve decided to start menu planning again. It’s time to get back into a routine. :)

I used to do monthly menus, but for now I’m going to stick with weekly menus. That way I’ll stick to the plan (this summer I totally didn’t)!

Monday: BBQ chicken salad 

Tuesday: Black bean salsa wraps 

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Honey Lime chicken skewers 

Friday: Homemade pizzas

Saturday: Out

Sunday: Baked penne with chicken, broccoli and mozzarella

    I just started menu planning as well! Hopefully it will reduce our take out trips (and our waistlines) and give me some recipes to write about. We are having pork chops, slow cooker tacos from an earlier post because they were so good, and firing up the grill for one of the last times this summer and having burgers. The baked penne and skewers sounds yum-o!

    For awhile I did a revolving 5 week menu. I only planned dinners and I left an open spot each week for dinner out or frozen night or whatever. The plus side of 5 weeks is you don’t repeat a meal in a month and it’s nice to have it all ready to go. I also printed out the corresponding grocery list (and had it laid out like my grocery store….dairy section, canned foods, etc..that would streamline my shopping bigtime) needed for the menu in each month and kept it all together in a binder. I did this when I had 2 small children and wanted in and out of the grocery store fast…and wanted to reduce meal time stress at home. It worked!

    I’m new to your website and your food pictures are absolutely mouth-watering.

    You’ve been much better than me keeping a monthly menu. For the longest time I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to grocery shopping and cooking meals. The past couple months I’ve been keeping a weekly menu that I put together on Fridays in time for the weekend shopping and it has kept me sane, especially over this crazy wonderful summer. :-)
