A great summertime healthy treat would be to use Ovaltine in Soy milk (regular or vanilla flavored) – your kids will only taste delicious chocolate milk but also be getting all the wonderful benefits of soy added to their diet. My kids have no idea that the milk is soy as long as I’ve mixed something chocolaty in with it :)

I remember drinking Ovaltine through my entire childhood! My healthful snack is the neat infuser pitcher I have. You fill the tube with fresh fruit, (I like lemons and oranges) and then fill the pitcher with iced tea, or water. I make tea with no sugar. The fruit gives it a wonderful taste, and less calories than putting in sugar! I follow you, and will go “like” Ovaltine!

We just can’t get enough of the fresh berries and watermelon at our house for the summer. You don’t even need a recipe when the berries are already sweet! :)

The newest healthy summer snack that I’ve discovered (or should I say, got brave enough to try) were hummus and jalapeno Greek yogurt dip with fresh veggies! We just moved into a new home (WITH MY FIRST GARDEN!) and nothing beats the taste of fresh veggies!

My favorite summer memories all come from going to the pool. Our family had a membership at a pool and we went all of the time. The best was the fourth of July though. They had a huge party every year with games and food and prizes. It was a blast!

We make a family fruit salad. On Saturdays we head down to the local farmer’s market and load up on the fresh local items. I have each of my girls select a fruit of their choice and we go home and add them together for a healthy, yummy salad. It is fun to involve everyone’s favorite items, that way they will eat it!
