Easy Peanut Butter Brownie Recipe

One of the best combinations ever is chocolate and peanut butter. The two flavors taste absolutely amazing together. These brownies are a favorite, as well as peanut butter bars, peanut butter stuffed chocolate cookies, Reese’s cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter no-bake cookies or a classic, peanut butter blossoms.

Okay, these peanut butter brownies that I’m sharing today are the REAL deal friends. Holy cow! They’re gooey, fudgy, full of creamy peanut butter and topped with a rich chocolate ganache. Talk about what dreams are made of!

I love that the brownies are super easy to make, too. They start with a box of brownie mix and then are doctored up with a delicious peanut butter filling and ganache topping. Proof that baking can be super simple and still taste amazing!

How to Make Easy Peanut Butter Brownies

To get started, preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×9″ pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease with non-stick cooking spray

Step 1: Make brownie mix

Make brownie batter according to directions on package. Then pour about 2/3 mixture into the parchment lined pan.

Step 2: Make peanut butter filling

Mix together butter, peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a Tablespoon of milk as needed. Using a spoon, drop spoonful’s of peanut butter filling on top of brownie batter (photo above).

Step 3: Bake brownies

Add remaining 1/3 brownie mixture on top of peanut butter and smooth with spatula. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Step 4: Make chocolate ganache

Heat the heavy cream in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until very hot. Then pour on top of the chopped chocolate (photo below) and cover with saran wrap. Let sit for a few minutes in order to melt.

Step 5: Top brownies with ganache and chill

Stir ganache until smooth, then pour over cooled brownies and smooth with a spatula. Refrigerate for 1 hour prior to serving.

Baking Tips

  • Line your pan with parchment for easy removal.
  • Can add chopped Reese’s to the peanut butter filling before baking or on top of chocolate ganache.
  • Feel free to mix in some chocolate chips to your brownie batter.
  • You could omit the chocolate ganache if preferred.
  • For a thinner brownie, add batter to a 9×13″ baking dish. Baking time will likely be shorter, about 20-25 minutes.
  • Don’t over bake! You want the brownies to be gooey and fudgy. Oven timing can vary, so use a toothpick to determine if brownies are done.
