If you missed the post earlier today you can catch up here. Let me show you how the rest of the room is coming… :)
picture wall ideas

I think it’s coming along pretty well. The only thing really left is to paint the corner mirror black and make a few pillows. I think it will tie everything in perfect. Oh and then there’s the open white frame. I was planning on putting an 11×14 picture in there but it was a little to small. Weird? I haven’t found another frame yet to replace it… but the longer I’ve looked at it the more I kind of like it. I can’t decide. What do you think?

Oh and here’s the picture right before we did the board and batten.

For the picture wall I started out with about 10 different frames I pulled from my secret stash… remember the one I told you about here.
how to arrange pictures on a wall
I laid everything out and decided what needed to be spray painted.
arranging pictures on a wall
Once everything was painted I laid it all out again on the floor and re-arranged it about 5 times. The tricky part was going to be making it look just as good on the wall. I’ve seen people trace paper bags and put those up on the wall first… but I was too lazy for that. We just went at it!
picture walls
So remember this $1 thrift store find? Well we started with that as our base and worked our way up from there. I think it best to start some where in the center and work your way out.
the picture wall
Luckily I didn’t have to worry about “perfectly” straight lines because I wasn’t really going for that look. Oh and did you notice that I stole the blue window from the bathroom… it needed a new home.

the picture wall
I think it turned out just how I imagined. The perfect picture wall. I love the pop of color…and the hubby was happy I used everything I had on hand for this project. However he wasn’t to thrilled about  hanging all those pictures. ;)
Once the mirror is painted black and I make a few pillows I think it will be just perfect!

I love your wall! I have always wanted to do something like this, but am such a freak about lining everything up "just so", that I'm afraid it won't look right;)

WOW!! That looks amazing!!!!!!! only because you asked about the big white frame. I like it, but if you think it needs something I would suggest putting a little frame inside. Framing a frame (a green one) with a picture.

Looks great! I've been doing some gallery walls lately too….aren't they fun? And, a great way to use alot of what you have. Maybe you can put some of your kids art work in the white frame someday?? I have incorporated some of my kids stuff in my gallery walls.

Looking forward to exploring your blog.

    Thank you!! :)

Our couch is from Mega Furniture, but I know Ashley's has the same one… or at least they did a year ago. I believe it came in 3 different colors.

Very cute! I love all the colors. Is your carpet from Target? I've had my eye on it but was really worried about how thick it is. Do you have a hard time keeping it clean?

Your picture wall looks great. I like how you tied the colours in from the room and the variety of ‘N’s. The mirror would look good black too, but I like that with a white mirror it ties in the door trim and beadboard. Either way it is a very pretty room.

    Jamielyn,

Just found your blog and am loving it! :). Can you tell me how long your wall is from the two doorways? I have a similar vaulted, LONG and annoyingly bare wall, which I call my WTH wall…(AKA..What the Heck am I going to do with this wall?) I was planning on doing the same thing, but am wondering if my wall is too long to make it look as cute as yours.

    Thanks,

    Jen
