    Hello crafty friends, I’m Callye of The Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle. I’m here today to share these simple shark fin cupcake toppers. I know that cookie decorating can seem a little intimidating but this is a project that even a beginner can do.

    The key to perfect cookies is a great recipe. You can find my cookie recipe HERE and my icing recipe HERE.

    I used a moon cutter to create shark fin cookies. This particular cutter came from the Wilton 101-Piece Plastic Cookie Cutter Set, but any moon will do.

    Simply cut out the cookies and use a flat edge {like a knife} to trim the bottoms.

    For a little extra stability you might consider rolling the cookies slightly thicker and inserting a cocktail fork. I purchased these at World Market. You could also use a smaller cutter {if I ever make these again I probably would}.

    To make shark fin cookies you will need:

    • Gray piping and flood consistency royal icing {for help with icing consistency, click HERE}

    Begin by outlining with a #2 tip then flood. Let the cookies dry completely. This can take anywhere from 8-24 hours depending on where you live.

    Once the cookies are dry place the cookie on a frosted cupcake. For tips on frosting cupcakes check out this post over at Glorious Treats.

      What color did you use for the frosting?
