Oven Baked Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

I love roasted asparagus, but sometimes it’s fun to dress it up a bit. And this bacon asparagus is the perfect way to do that. Crispy bacon make these mouth watering. The flavors taste so delicious together!

These bacon wrapped asparagus are one of my go-to sides. They pair perfectly with any dish and are always a crowd pleaser at a holiday dinner or dinner party. They look fancy, everyone will be super impressed and you get your kids (or husband) to like asparagus with the added bacon, too!

How to Cook Bacon Wrapped Asparagus in Oven

These are so easy to make and only take about 5 minutes of prep work. It’s important to remember to cut the bacon in half and leave room when wrapping it around the asparagus so it has room to cook.

  1. Cut the bacon in half, down the middle to create 12 strips.
  2. Wrap the bacon around the asparagus spears.
  3. Place onto the pan with the bacon ends on the bottom. Salt and pepper.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, or until crisp.

Variations

Balsamic

Drizzle balsamic glaze on top before serving. You can also mix together 2 Tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar and brush onto the bacon before baking.

Bundle

Create a bundle and wrap the bacon around 3-5 asparagus to get in more veggies.

Grilling

To make grilled asparagus, I recommend wrapping the asparagus in bundles (instead of individually). Make sure to use a toothpick to secure them together so that you can easily flip them on the grill without falling apart. Grill over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp. Make sure to flip the bundles a few times throughout.

Disneyland version

To make the famous wrapped asparagus from Bengal BBQ at Disneyland, cut the asparagus and bacon into 3 pieces. Then wrap each piece and place 5-6 pieces on a skewer. Squeeze a little bit of fresh lemon juice and grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until crispy.
