DIY Planter Fairy Garden

DIY Planter Fairy Garden – for indoor or outdoor use that the kids can help create! Such a fun way to add a little magic to your yard.

My daughter and I had such a fun time creating this little fairy garden. She’s been wanting to make one for awhile and with the warmer weather (okay really only 40’s and 50’s, but I am staying hopeful that Spring is almost here) we’ve been getting, we thought we would create one over the weekend. Fairy gardens really don’t need to be complicated and could be simple as picking a few flowers and placing them in a tea cup with a little fairy.

MY OTHER RECIPES

What really makes a fairy garden is the accessories, so let your kids have fun with it! You really don’t need to spend a ton of money. Have your kids look around the house for unique things and you could even use an old tinker bell toy for the fairy.

I love this green planter bowl from the BHG line at Walmart we used for ours because it’s not too deep and adds a fun pop of color. My daughter also picked out a few flowers, this bird decorative and gnome from Walmart. They had a lot of fun new stuff for Spring! I can’t wait to plant my real garden in a few more weeks.

There’s just a few simple steps and supplies to making your own fairy garden.

Supplies:

  • Planter or bowl
  • Flowers and plants
  • Decorative moss
  • Fairy garden accessories

Instructions:

Pick your container or planter and then place your plants and flowers inside. I used 3 different potted flowers. Then spread around the soil to evenly fill the pot. You can also add more soil if needed, depending on how deep your pot it. Then add decorative moss to cover the soil.

Last, add your fairy garden accessories and have fun with it!

I also found this cute flower pot, gnome and frog at Walmart too, so we decorated the garden with those too.

Keep it simple. Fairy gardens don’t need to be complicated and take all day. That’s the beauty of it. If you make your own, I’d love to see a pic. Snap one and tag us at #iheartnaptime :)
