Halloween Graveyard Cake… serve up this spooky chocolate graveyard cake for your next Halloween party! It’s super easy and delicious!
My kids saw a graveyard cake at a party last year and have been wanting to make our own version ever since. I also spotted this fun KIT KAT Bars cake on HERSHEY’S website which inspired the KIT KAT Bars around the edge of the cake. I think it turned out so cute alternating the orange and black (dark chocolate) KIT KAT Bars. It also added a delicious crunch to the cake.
This cake was super easy to make and I’ll show you how in the video below. It also adds the perfect centerpiece to any Halloween table.
Here are some of the fun goodies we used to decorate our graveyard cake. On the top of the cake we used the REESE’S ghost and Halloween HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate Bars. My kids also love Jolly Rancher Gummies, so we found the spooky shapes and added a few of those on top as well.
We started the cake off with two chocolate cake rounds (you can use your favorite recipe, or pick up the plain rounds from your local grocery stores bakery). Then we whipped up a batch of our favorite chocolate buttercream frosting. That stuff is seriously so delicious and makes every cake perfect.
Then I frosted the middle of the cake, the top and sides. We added some cookie crumbs on top to make it look like dirt and then had fun decorating. My favorite part about the whole cake is the KIT KAT Bars around the side. It makes it look so festive.
My kids loved helping with this project and it really was so fun to make (and eat)!
Hope you enjoyed this cake decorating idea. Have a wonderful Halloween!
