Free printable moving checklist

If you follow me on instagram, you most likely know by now we are moving to Ohio. We will be starting my husbands 5 year residency for orthopedic surgery there. We are super excited and a little nervous for this new adventure! I’m excited for fall and all the seasons, but I’m a little nervous about living in snow. However…now I have an excuse to buy cute Hunter boots. ;) Any Ohio readers out there??

I’ve tried to keep everything super organized with this move and it has helped tremendously. One thing that has really helped was keeping a moving checklist. I printed off a moving checklist from and used it several weeks leading up to the move. We’ve created a condensed version for you to download with a blank sheet so you can add your own checklist. Cute check lists definitely make packing a bit more fun. ;)

Ah, the joys of moving! My husband is completing his 5 year general surgery residency and we are on the move as well this summer! My tip for packing: be resourceful and use your towels as padding between fragile items. My encouragement for residency: you will be rewarded for your sacrifice. Find other resident wives to create a support network for one another.

These are just what I need right now! Thanks for posting these. We, too, are gearing up for a move to OH in July. So, I’m just starting to think about packing stuff that we will need as we prepare for the movers to arrive.

The weather is beaitiful right now in Ohio! We’re spending a lot of time outdoors. The snow may or may not be bad. You never know! It is pretty to look at though!

It stinks you’re moving from AZ right when I moved here! But Ohio is gorgeous and you’ll love it :) Good luck!

Where in Ohio? Don’t be nervous…Ohioans are very nice. :) I am in Findlay which is between Toledo and Columbus. Good luck with all the packing!

Good luck to you! I grew up in Ohio and still have family there. You will love the fall colors, trust me! It’s just gorgeous. I don’t know what part you’re moving to, but we were in the north central suburbs of Cleveland. Twinsburg has the largest Twins festival every year…they come from all over the world. Geauga County has an awesome county fair…and great maple syrup! Enjoy this new adventure!

Thank you so much. I am starting a new Reggio Emilia School and will be moving to a bigger facility. This list has some great points to remember and will help me to be professional in the move as we change to a larger building. Thank you!

Hey, thank you so much for this and your other post on moving. I know this is from a year ago, hope you are liking Ohio! We are both from Ohio but have been moving around a bit for the military. Now, moving back to OH soon from VA! With two little ones and being in school, it should be interesting! Thank you again. :-)

I’m glad this moving checklist came in handy for you! Moving with 2 little ones is definitely interesting, make sure to bring lots of activities and snacks for traveling and stop at places along the way to make it fun! :)

Thank you so much for this.  I hate moving.  I try to be totally organized whenever I plan a move, but it seems like I always leave something out.  This will be a tremendous help this time.

Think about you pets, update their collars, with phone numbers, don’t worry about putting names on them, put as many numbers you can. Also your email address.
Have copies of their medical records with you too.
Plan on finding a new home for your pet, do it sooner than later.  A lot of places are full and have a waiting list up to 3 months out.

LOVE these gorgeous checklists! I recently put together a checklist for moving into your first apartment (you know, stuff you need when you’re first moving out on your own, like fire extinguishers and curtain rods…), but yours is so beautifully laid out. I’ll definitely use these next time I move. Thank you for sharing them!

    • Jamielyn posted on May 27, 2015 at 8:12 pm (#

Thank you for your comment Mallory! :)

Use only small boxes for books. They get very heavy, very fast. Always stack dishes upwards when packing.

Love this checklist! Thank you about it! It so nice to find exactly what you need at the right moment. I’m moving in a month and my sister’s moving in three months, so I’m making a copy for her too. Thanks !

Very useful list. Checking with your insurance company is the most important thing. This was my first job when I packed my suitcase. It is essential your luggage to be safe. Best regards!
