Hello, hello! It’s Yvonne from Tried and Tasty and I’m thrilled to be here for the Hello Summer Event! Thank you, Jamielyn, for having me. It’s gotten hot quickly in my neck of the woods and nothing screams summer to me like a cool refreshing beverage. But if you’re like me, you’re still trying to achieve the bikini bod… and sugar loaded drinks don’t help in that department.
In my quest to be healthier, I’ve decided to kick the sugar. White sugar, that is. So for this yummy Strawberry Lemonade I’ve used honey instead! It’s the perfect replacement that’s all-natural. I don’t know about you, but strawberries are my favorite berries. I could eat them all day long. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and snacks in between.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I have mad love for Costco. Like ridiculously mad love. Like, couldn’t-live-without Costco kind of love. If you are lucky enough to have one in your area, check out their produce and see if they’ve got organic strawberries – I was able to pick up 2 lbs. of the most beautiful fruit for a screaming deal. Why organic? Check out my Clean 15 vs. Filthy 15: When Organic Matters post. You certainly don’t have to buy the organic, but when they are such a good deal – why not?
Just imagine yourself whipping up a batch of this lemonade, sipping on a glass in the hot summer heat, and enjoying every ounce of daylight. Doesn’t that sound just wonderful?! I plan on making that a reality more often than not this year, and after one sip of this tasty drink, I bet you will too! What’s your idea of the perfect summer day? Strawberry Lemonade (No Sugar Added)
- 1 pound strawberries washed & cut in halves, about 4 cups
- 1/2 cup Juice of 2 large lemons about 1/2 c.
- 1/4 cup or less, depending on the sweetness of your strawberries honey
- 6 cups of water
- Using your high speed blender, blend the strawberries, lemon juice and honey with water. If desired, pour through strainer in to your pitcher or skip step (personal preference on how you’d like your beverage). Serve cold over ice & enjoy!
