  • Happy Monday!

It’s Leigh Anne from Your Homebased Mom and I don’t know about you but if you have spent anytime on the internet lately you may be about as sugared out as I am and I haven’t even eaten any of it! Now believe me I love sugar just as much, if not more, than the next person, but with Valentine’s Day just around the corner I thought I would share a recipe with you that you may enjoy as part of your Valentine’s dinner. Warm Strawberry Spinach Salad is not only delicious but when you cut your strawberries into hearts it looks awfully pretty too!

Making your strawberries into hearts is quick and easy. The first step is to pull off the green top and then hull the strawberry. Slice the strawberry in half and you pretty much have a heart. You may need to trim the center part down a bit more to make it look more like a heart. How fun is that! And a super quick way to add a little love to your meal.

The dressing is a combination of the leftover bacon grease, red wine vinegar, shallots, dijon mustard and a little sugar. The warm dressing softens up the spinach and tastes delicious!

leighanneblog-3160_00011-300x300 I’m Leigh Anne and food, family and friends are three of my favorite things. I am the mother of four young adults, a new mother in law and am still trying to adjust to life as an empty nester along with my husband of over 30 years. I love throwing parties, burying my head in a book and digging in the dirt in my garden. My husband would tell you I love making messes in the kitchen and craft room and finding junk (treasures) at Goodwill. I believe that life is beautiful and it is up to us to find and create that beauty. I love sharing my journey to finding the pretty and delicious in life over at Your Homebased Mom.
