Comforting and ready in under 1 hour! This easy hamburger casserole recipe has layers of saucy beef, tender noodles, and oodles of melted cheese then baked until bubbly. It’s so good it’s been on the menu at least once a month lately!

Ground Beef Onion, garlic, bell pepper, carrots Diced tomatoes and tomato paste Italian seasoning and worcestershire Salt and pepper Elbow noodles Cream cheese Cheddar and mozzarella cheese

Brown meat

In a skillet cook ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Use a slotted spoon to transfer cooked beef to a plate.

Saute veggies

Add  carrots, onion, and bell pepper and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, stir in the garlic for another 30 seconds.

Add tomatoes

Return the beef to skillet, stir in drained tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Cook noodles

Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Combine noodles with cream cheese and butter and stir until noodles are well coated.

Spread half of the noodles into a greased baking dish. Then, layer half the ground beef mixture on top. Repeat layers and then top with cheese.

Transfer the dish to a preheated 350 degree F oven and bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until heated through. Let rest 10 minutes then serve.

Expert Tip

Cook pasta al dente. This means cooking it a minute less than what it says on the box. Pasta will continue cooking in the oven.
