Pulse oats

Pulse a cup of the oats until they are broken. The rest leave whole. Be careful not to pulse it too long and turn it into flour.

Wet ingredients

Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and molasses until combined.

Dry ingredients
Add 1/2 flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix. Add in remaining flour, pulsed oats, and whole oats.

Scoop and bake

Scoop dough onto baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes in oven at 350°F until the edges are just lightly golden brown.

Make icing

While cookies are cooling on wire rack, whisk together powdered sugar and milk in a bowl.

Add glaze

Add glaze to each cookie and then use a knife or the back of a spoon to spread it on top. Allow icing to set.
