Add ingredients: Add 1 1/2 pounds green beans, 1/4 cup diced onions, 1 Tablespoon brown sugar, 2 slices cooked bacon, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and 1 cup chicken broth in a crockpot. Season with salt and pepper. Top with 2-3 Tablespoons butter.
Cook: Add lid and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3-4 hours, or until tender.
Serve: If there is too much liquid, drain some before serving. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add remaining cooked bacon and Parmesan (if desired), just before serving.
Notes
Topping: Don't want to add bacon? Feel free to add candied nuts like pecans or sliced almonds on top. It would also be a great addition to the bacon.
