If you love Take 5 candy bars, you are going to love this easy homemade version. No baking required and every bite is the perfect mix of salty, sweet, and crunchy.
Ingredients
72pretzel snaps, 2 layers of 36
½cupcrunchy peanut butter
2Tablespoonsbutter, softened
1 cuppowdered sugar
1Tablespoonmilk, if needed
11ouncebag caramel squares, brachs or werthers
2Tablespoons water
10-ounceschocolate chips or melting wafers , milk or semi-sweet
Instructions
Line a a 18x13 baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange 36 pretzels to cover the bottom.
Combine peanut butter, butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to mix until combined until it comes together. Add milk if needed to thin. Roll into small balls. Then press on top of each pretzels.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with water in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle caramel evenly over the top of the peanut butter filling.
Place the remaining 36 pretzels on top, gently pressing them into the caramel layer. Chill for 45–60 minutes, until firm.
Melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Use a fork to dip each pretzel bite in chocolate and place back on parchment paper. Let chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
Notes
Store these bites in a cool dry place at room temperature for up to 5 days. If your kitchen runs warm, pop them in the fridge and just let them sit out for a few minutes before eating so the caramel has a chance to soften back up.
