These spooky chocolate covered strawberry ghosts are a fun and easy Halloween treat! Dip strawberries in melted white chocolate gives them a ghostly appearance!
Prep Time: 20 minutesminutes
Chill: 10 minutesminutes
Total Time: 30 minutesminutes
Servings: 18strawberries
Ingredients
18medium strawberries, washed and dried very well
8ounceswhite chocolate melting wafers, I prefer Ghiradelli
2ouncesdark chocolate melting wafers, or use mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Line a baking sheet or the counter with parchment or wax paper. Make sure your strawberries are washed and completely dry before beginning (any water will ruin them). I like to leave them on paper towels for a couple hours after washing.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate melting wafers at 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring in between. When chocolate is almost melted, remove from microwave and stir until completely melted and smooth.
Holding the strawberries by the stem, dip into the white chocolate, turning to coat the entire strawberry. Place the strawberry on the pan and drag the strawberry to create a ghost line. Repeat with remaining strawberries. Chill 5 to 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.
Melt dark chocolate using the instructions above. Then use the back of a mini spoon to draw on the eyes and mouth. Alternatively place mini chocolate chips on right after dipping the white chocolate.
Refrigerate for 5 minutes to harden.
Notes
Tip: Wash your strawberries the day before so they have time to completely dry.Storage: Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Best served the first day.
