Korean beef bulgogi is made of thin strips of beef marinated in sweet and savory Korean barbecue flavors that are cooked quickly over high heat.

Ingredients
1 poundtender beef, sliced very thin
Marinade
1 ½ Tablespoonssesame seeds
¼cupgreen onions, chopped
3clovesgarlic, crushed or minced
¼teaspoonsalt
¼ teaspoonpepper
1Tablespoonsesame oil
¼cupsoy sauce
3Tablespoonssugar
Hot sticky rice, for serving
Instructions
Toast Sesame Seeds: Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add 1 1/2 Tablespoons of sesame seeds in an even layer. Stir constantly for about 2 minutes, until they are golden brown and fragrant. They will burn quickly, so keep close watch.
Grind Seeds: Grind or mash the toasted sesame seeds.
Make Marinade: In a large zip top bag, or mixing bowl, add crushed sesame seeds, 1/4 cup chopped green onions, 3 crushed or minced cloves of garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, 1 Tablespoon sesame oil, 1/4 cup soy sauce and 3 Tablespoons sugar. Mix.
Marinade Meat: Add meat to this mixture and make sure the marinade is coating all the beef. Let sit for at least 1/2 hour.
Cook Meat: Use one of the following methods to cook meat.1) Cook on bbq for 3-4 minutes2) Broil in oven, about 3 minutes on each side3) Cook in hot frying pan with about 1 Tablespoon oil, in a single layer. Flip once, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Serve with hot, sticky rice. Garnish with additional sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
Notes
Tips: Rib eye is a great cut of meat for this, however you can use sirloin for a cheaper cut. Just make sure you slice it paper thin. The butcher at the grocery store will usually do this for free while you shop.
