Animal face toast

Animal face toast + Capri Sun -a quick, fun and delicious after school snack idea for kids.

I don’t know about your kids, but mine come home from school STARVING. They don’t get a lot of time to eat their lunch and don’t have a snack time, so I totally get it. I have a snack cabinet with easily accessible snacks they can grab when they get home, but I also like to make something fun for them occasionally as well. Recently they have been loving toast with fruit. I’ll pull out their favorite spreads (peanut butter, cream cheese and hazelnut spread) with fruit and let them go to town. Sometimes we’ll even get more creative and make animal face toast. They love it!

My 2-year-old especially looks forward to this time of day. She misses her buddies while they are at school, so she is always SO happy when they come home and play with her.

How to make animal face toast

  • Cat face: for this toast you’ll need cream cheese, strawberries, blueberries and pretzel sticks. Spread the cream cheese onto the bread in a circle. Then slice one strawberry in half and place them on the top to create the ears. Next place three blueberries in the middle for the eyes and nose. Last break three pretzel sticks in half to create the whiskers.
  • Bear face: for this toast you’ll need a hazelnut or peanut butter spread, sliced bananas and blueberries. Spread the base onto the bread in a circle. Then add two bananas at the top for the ears and one at the bottom for the nose. Next add two blueberries for the eyes and one on top of the banana for the nose.
  • Panda face: for this toast you’ll need cream cheese and hazelnut spread. Spread the cream cheese onto the bread. Then place the spread into a sandwich size bag and snip off the tip. Then draw on the ears, nose and mouth.
  • Monkey face: for this toast you’ll need a hazelnut or peanut butter spread, sliced bananas and blueberries. Spread the base onto the bread in a circle. Then slice two bananas in half. We love making these on the weekends as well. After all their morning chores and soccer games, they are h-u-n-g-r-y. They love having juice with their weekend snack and always go for a Capri Sun. My kids love them!

I am loving that four Capri Sun varieties are now made with All Natural ingredients, no added sugar* and no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. These reformulated products from Capri Sun have the taste kids love, without the ingredients that parents don’t want in their kids’ drinks.

All four products are available now at retailers nationwide. Fruit Refreshers comes in three delicious flavors, including Awesomely Apple, Very Berry Punch, and Orange Pineapple Tango.animal face toast on a napkin with a juice box
