Oreo Christmas Dirt Cake
I love bringing a playful twist to a simple Oreo dirt cake and creating something festive for every occasion like my Halloween dirt cake, Easter dirt cake, and now this Christmas dirt cake!
This easy, no-bake dessert is made with layers of creamy pudding and whipped topping “snow” that sits on top of an Oreo cookie “dirt” crust. Garnished with Christmas sprinkles and Little Debbie Christmas trees, it’s a guaranteed hit at potlucks and parties!
Ingredients Notes

Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.
- Oreo crust: Oreo cookies and salted butter. Keep the cream filling in the Oreos. They’ll act as a binder and add sweetness. You’ll need to melt the salted butter, but keep some at room temperature for the creamy layer.
- Cream cheese: Bring it out to room temperature to soften. Use a block rather than a tub, as the tub of spreadable kind contains more water.
- Cool Whip: Thawed completely. If you like you can make homemade Cool Whip.
- Instant vanilla pudding and whole milk: For the rich, creamy pudding layer.
- Little Debbie Christmas Tree brownies: I love the look of these brownies coated in green icing and little decorative sprinkles. You can also use Little Debbie vanilla cakes or make little pretzel trees.
- You’ll also need: Salted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and Christmas sprinkles.
How to Make Christmas Dirt Cake
In a food processor or blender, crush the whole cookies into fine crumbs. Mix in the melted butter until combined (should look like wet sand).
Transfer the mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and press it down into an even layer. Refrigerate or freeze it for about 5 minutes.

In a medium bowl, whip the cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth, and then fold in the Cool Whip.
Whisk the pudding and milk in a separate bowl until thick. Let that sit for a few minutes to thicken even more. Then, fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture and spread the filling evenly over the Oreo crust. Use an offset spatula to smooth it out.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let that chill in the fridge for 4 hours. Add the Christmas trees and sprinkles just before serving. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips
- Bring the butter and cream cheese to room temperature at the same time. You want to be able to mix until smooth without leaving lumps behind.
- Fold the Cool Whip in gently so you’re not releasing too much air. It’s how you keep it light and fluffy.
- Chill before adding the decorative items on top. Otherwise, the brownies may get soggy.
- Assemble the layers in clear plastic cups and serve individual portions of Christmas dirt cake. Place 1 Little Debbie Christmas tree brownie on top of each cup.

Nutrition
Nutrition provided is an estimate. It will vary based on specific ingredients used.
Substitutions and Variations
- Try it with a different flavor of Oreos. Use Golden Oreos for a Golden Oreo Dirt Cake recipe, or use seasonal Christmas Oreos with green or red filling.
- You can also swap the vanilla instant pudding for white chocolate pudding instead.
- If you’re interested, you can make homemade Cool Whip, which adds a nice homemade element.
- Get creative with the decorations! Add crushed candy cane or peppermint on top, or add some snowflake or Santa gummies.
Storage
Christmas dirt dessert is best eaten within the first couple of days, as the crust will start to get soggy. However, if stored properly, covered in plastic wrap in the fridge, you could enjoy it for up to 3 days after it’s made. I like to store the Little Debbie cakes separately.
