These Italian sodas are the perfect customizable party drink with only 3-ingredients! Easy to make in a variety of delicious flavors plus budget-friendly and caffeine-free, too.
Italian Cream Soda
Italian sodas are fun and refreshing, sweet and creamy, and so much cheaper to make at home! A big bowl of pink punch or green punch will always have a place at a party, but the flavor of these drinks can be tailored to each guest, so everyone gets their own.
These family-friendly drinks come in various flavors and colors, so you can find one to match any party theme. Serve these Italian cream sodas at everything from birthday parties and wedding showers to Easter brunch and the 4th of July!
Ingredients Notes
Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.
- Club soda: If you want something a bit sweeter, you can use Sprite instead.
- Torani syrup: For this recipe, I’m using coconut and raspberry, with a slight emphasis on the raspberry.
- Heavy cream: Half and half also works to make it creamy.
How to Make Italian Soda at Home
Grab your serving glasses and add pebble ice to the bottom of each glass. Pour in the club soda.
Squirt in the Torani syrup flavors and the cream.
Just before serving, garnish each one with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Have some fun straws available for anyone who wants to use one!
Italian Sodas Flavor Variations
The sky’s the limit here. I have combinations listed, but these drinks are just as good with a single flavor too! We love peach and pineapple in the summer and peppermint or caramel in the winter.
Here are a few fun combinations you can also try:
- Strawberry + Coconut
- Blackberry + Vanilla
- Raspberry + Lime
- Mango + Banana
- Cherry + Vanilla

Tips to Make an Italian Soda Bar
- Get the really good ice! If you’ve ever had my Sonic cherry limeade, you know what a different pebble ice makes!
- Keep a cooler near by. This should hold the cream and the sparkling water (or soda water).
- Provide a variety of flavors and line them up on the counter so people can properly read the label.
- Provide instructions as to how many pumps of syrup are required. Also, provide a list of possible combinations.
- Set out some garnishes. Maraschino cherries, lemons, limes, and funky straws.
FAQs
Torani is the most popular brand of flavored syrups, and it’s sold at many grocery stores including Walmart or Amazon, and in some local coffee shops.
A lot of regular soda contains caffeine, whereas classic Italian sodas do not. Italian sodas come in a wider variety of flavors, and they’re not as sweet as traditional soda (especially when you control the amount of syrup used).
Coconut milk would be a great alternative. You could also try dairy free coffee creamers.
Yes! Torani has a line of sugar-free syrup with amazing flavors. Just be sure to check the label. You’ll also want to make sure to use sparkling water or club soda to keep it sugar-free.
These are fun to make for a party and I like how you can choose how sweet you like them (unlike when you use sprite or another soda option)
Would be so fun to have these Italian sodas at a party with all the variations you can make!
