Homemade Salsa
There’s nothing better than a homemade Christmas gift in my opinion. And because the holidays are filled with tons of yummy desserts, it’s fun to make a savory gift like this festive salsa or homemade compound butter.
This year for neighbor gifts, I knew I wanted to make homemade salsa. We just moved to Ohio from Arizona and have yet to find some “real” Mexican food. I thought it would be fun to give my friends and neighbors some yummy salsa to give them a taste of AZ. Plus, I think it’s fun to give something other than desserts every once in awhile.
What You’ll Need
I made about 5 batches of my homemade salsa. It is SO good and really easy to make. Seriously one of my favorites!
I also bought some red and green tortilla chips and wrapped them in cellophane. Because you can’t have salsa without chips!
- Homemade salsa
- 16 oz mason jars (one batch of my homemade salsa fills about 3 of these mason jars)
- Baker’s twine
- Free salsa gift tag and label (download below)
- Chips (I used red & green tortilla chips for a festive flare)
- Cellophane

I created these salsa labels and gift tags to add a festive touch to this delicious homemade gift. I just love how cute it looks!
For the ‘seasoned greetings’ salsa labels: I printed them out on sticker paper and then cut them out with my 2 inch circle punch. You could also cut it out with scissors and glue them on.
For the ‘enjoy’ tags: I just printed them out on cardstock paper and cut them out with a paper cutter. Then I placed a hole punch on top and tied them onto the jar with bakers twine. You could also use those tags to tie around a bag of chips. I found these cute red and green chips at Target! Everyone loved them.
Where did you find the red and green tortilla chips?
Target! I’ve seen them at Trader Joe’s and Costco too some years.
hey, thanks for those great ideas. what do you think how long does it take until the salsa goes bad if i keep them in a glas in the fridge?
