The Cutest Easter Bunny Chow
This Easter puppy chow is a spring version of classic puppy chow (aka Muddy Buddies) with a white chocolate twist. It’s sweet, crunchy, and loaded with pastel M&M’s and sprinkles to give it a fun bunny bait vibe.
I love to make a batch of this sweet and salty Easter dessert for spring parties, weekend brunches, or to portion into little bags for egg hunts and treat baskets.
Ingredient Notes

Find the full recipe with printable directions below.
- Rice Chex: Rice Chex keeps it light and crispy, but Corn Chex works great too.
- White chocolate: Gives that classic pastel Easter look, but you can swap in milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate if that’s what you have.
- White chocolate chips: You can also use white chocolate candy melts (they melt smooth and set up nicely).
- Peanut butter: Use regular creamy peanut butter, not natural or “stir” peanut butter, since it can separate and make the coating oily.
- Powdered sugar: The final toss is what makes it sweet, addicting, and melt-in-your-mouth.
- Pastel M&M’s: Classic, colorful, and they hold up well in the mix.
- Easter sprinkles: Adds that fun, festive look. Use jimmies, nonpareils, or a spring sprinkle mix.
- Other candy options: Swap in Robin’s Eggs or Cadbury Mini Eggs for extra crunch (or do a mix of candies).
How to Make Easter Puppy Chow
Melt the white chocolate with peanut butter and butter in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth, then stir in vanilla. Pour over the Chex in a large bowl and gently toss until evenly coated.
Add the coated cereal to a zip-top bag with powdered sugar and shake until fully covered. Spread on a baking sheet to cool, then toss with pastel M&M’s and Easter sprinkles.

Recipe Tips
- Shake in a bag: Tossing the coated Chex with powdered sugar in a zip-top bag helps it coat evenly without crushing the cereal.
- No powdered sugar: You can make it without the powdered sugar for a less “classic puppy chow” finish.
- Switch up the coating: Try pastel candy melts (or mix colors) for extra spring color.
- Nut-free option: Leave out the peanut butter for nut allergies. It’s still delicious and more like my Valentine Chex mix.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temp for up to 7 days (ours never lasts that long).
