These Fudgy Nutella Brownies Are Irresistible

I’ve always had a soft spot for Nutella, so it’s no surprise these fudgy Nutella brownies are a family favorite. They’re everything I love in a chocolate dessert: chewy, rich, and perfectly gooey in the center with that signature chocolate hazelnut flavor in every bite.

The best part is that you only need one bowl and three simple ingredients: Nutella, eggs, and flour. They are butter free with no cocoa powder and no mixer required! An extra swirl of Nutella on top before baking makes these brownies completely irresistible to any chocoholic.

If you love brownies as much as my family does, you’ll also want to try my homemade brownies, fudge frosted brownies and brownies from cake mix!

Ingredient Notes

Ingredients for 3 ingredient Nutella brownies: eggs, Nutella, and flour.

  • Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread: The star of the recipe, giving these brownies their rich flavor.
  • Eggs: Help bind the batter and create that chewy, fudgy texture.
  • All-purpose flour: Just enough holds everything together while keeping the brownies soft and tender. You can swap the flour with almond flour for an even fudgier texture.

How to Make Nutella Brownies

Start by whisking your eggs until smooth and slightly frothy before adding the Nutella. This gives the batter that glossy, ribbony texture you’re looking for.

I always recommend lining the baking pan with parchment even if it feels like an extra step. It makes lifting the brownies out so much easier and gives you much cleaner cuts.

Pull them out of the oven when the center looks almost done. They’ll continue to firm up as they cool, and that’s exactly how you get that fudgy center. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right out of the oven while they’re still warm so it sticks.

Recipe Tips

  • Do not overbake. The key to fudgy Nutella brownies is pulling them out when the center looks just barely set. Insert a toothpick in the center if only a few moist crumbs comes out, it means they’re ready, wet batter means they need a few more minutes.
  • Crackly top. Whisk your eggs vigorously before adding the Nutella. That extra effort is what gives you that shiny, crackled top everyone loves.
  • Nutella swirl. For a thicker, more decadent swirl on top, don’t be shy with the Nutella. A heavier hand makes for a beautiful marbled top and extra chocolate hazelnut flavor.
  • Pan size. This recipe is written for a 5×8″ pan but an 8×8 or 9×9 works too, just know baking time may vary. For a double batch, use a 9×13 pan and keep an eye on them.
  • Serving tip. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top right out of the oven while they’re still warm so it sticks. Or serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate dessert.
