- Whole milk: Adds to the texture’s thickness and creaminess. You can use 2% in a pinch, but I don’t recommend anything less than that. Heavy cream could also work.
- Vanilla extract: To enhance the flavor.
How to Make Brownie Frosting
Combine all of the frosting ingredients in a medium mixing bowl, using just 2 tablespoons of milk. Use an electric hand mixer or whisk to mix. If needed, add a tablespoon of milk.

Once your brownies are completely cooled, use an offset spatula to spread a generous, even layer over the top. Enjoy!
