Cookie Butter + White Chocolate
While browsing the aisles of Trader Joe’s a couple of weeks ago, I spotted the beloved cookie butter! I literally took a spoon to the jar… okay I’ll stop there. Let me just tell you that it is addicting!
I decided to take this beloved cookie butter and mix up my traditional white chocolate popcorn. The cookie butter flavor really takes it up a notch. If you really love cookie butter, you could even add in an extra Tablespoon of two.
This recipe really is so easy to make and I promise you the cookie butter makes ALL the difference just like in Biscoff cookie butter cookies! For something less decadent, try my homemade kettle corn!

Ingredients
- Popcorn – You can pop a batch of stovetop popcorn or use pre-made. I like to buy the big bags of Skinny Pop at Costco to keep on hand.
- White Chocolate – I love to use the Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers. However, you can substitute for white chocolate chips or almond bark.
- Cookie Butter – I find my cookie butter at Trader Joe’s. You could also use a Biscoff spread.
How to Make Cookie Butter Popcorn
This recipe is so simple and only takes two steps. Scroll down for printable recipe.
- Melt: The first step is melting the white chocolate and cookie butter in the microwave. You could also melt in a double broiler on the stove top.
- Combine: Once melted, all you’re going to do is mix together with the popcorn until coated. Then pour onto a piece of parchment paper to cool.
Made this today! Just amazing!!! Thank you!

Does the Biscoff keep the candy coating or chocolate from setting up properly? I made some, and the candy coating is still sticky soft.
Jamielyn
Hi! I haven’t had that issue before, it has always hardened for me! It could be different altitudes that change the consistency?
Lola
Is there a difference between the candy coating and the candy melts? Could you just use alot of candu melts instead?
Jamielyn
Yes you can definitely use candy melts instead! :)
Melissa
I bet this would be good with rice chex too as a type of chex mix!
Jamielyn
Ooooh…this would be delicious with rice chex! So many possibilities! :)
Sherry
Re: popcorn with cookie butter recipe, did you salt the popcorn? Ty.
Jamielyn
Hi Sherry! I didn’t salt my popcorn, but you definitely could if you want a sweet/salty taste! :)
Heather
Amazing! This is so good! I am making this for a baby shower (using blue candies!), but wanted to test out today, so I made it Valentine’s Day inspired. I only had 12oz. white chocolate and it was plenty to coat the popcorn.
Jamielyn
I’m glad you liked it Heather! What a great idea to use blue candies for a baby shower! Thanks for sharing! :)

If you cannot find cookie butter, look for Biscoff spread. It is available at most major retailers/grocery stores and is the original cookie butter.
Jennifer
Would this work with Nutella?
Jamielyn
I think it would be amazing with nutella! Great idea!
Dylan
This looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I really want to make this as a craft at a cooking clinic with about 8 girls. How much popcorn do you think I will need? thanks!
Jamielyn
It depends how much you want each of them to take home. I would probably double the recipe! :)
Nikki
Hi! I stumbled upon this while looking for candy recipes for Christmas. I’m from the Philippines and I don’t think we have candiquick here. What would be a good alternative that I can use? Will white chocolate work? Thanks!
Jamielyn
I haven’t tried this recipe with white chocolate, but it should work just fine and it will taste delicious!!

This looks so magical. Like unicorns created it and sprinkled it with sparkles. Thanks for sharing!

It looks delightful! I don’t live near a Trader Joes and I have never heard of Bishcoff. Describe a little what the two products are and how they differ from plain peanut butter. Thanks.
Melissa
I found biscoff spread at Walmart. They also have it at World Market. It is a sweet creamy spread.
Jennifer
Does anyone know if I can use plain pre popped, microwave or jiffy pop? I do not have an air popper and my pots are very heavy (not about to do the old school shake a pot method).
Jamielyn
Yes, you can definitely use microwave popcorn… just make sure to take out any un-popped kernels. :)
cheryl
what is candy quick.
Jamielyn
It’s similar to white chocolate. You can find it in the baking section. Here’s a link: http://www.candiquik.com/

My mother-in-law found the cookie butter on a trip to TJ. It is some tasty stuff! The ‘cookie butter popcorn’ sounds like it is right on the verge of being sinful ;) It does look like an excellent Easter treat to bag up and give away.

OH, MY GOSH! Cool — I have to make this for my popcorn loving sweet daughter! She just loves popcorn and will flip over this! Thanks for posting!
