“Scent-sational” Neighbor Gift Idea

Welcome to the Crazy Christmas event! If you’re new here you may want to subscribe or join us on facebook. Welcome Landee See, Landee Do!!

Hi all of you wonderful I Heart Nap Time readers!  I am Landee from Landee See, Landee Do and I am so excited to be here today!  Stop by and visit if you get a chance… I try to keep it lively over there. :)

As a creative blogger I am always on the look out for fun ideas to share.  Last Christmas, a friend of mine gave me a neighbor gift that I absolutely loved!   It was such a neat alternative to the sometimes overwhelming amount of goodies and treats we usually receive (Dear Friends and Neighbors Who Might Be Reading This, Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT stop overwhelming me with goodies and treats.  Thank you.  Love, Landee).

The gift was all the ingredients I needed to create a simmering potpourri and fill my house with the smells of Christmas!  All I needed to do was add a pot with some water in it.  Like I said, I loved it and so I’m sharing it with you today!  It’s very inexpensive and who doesn’t love the smell of Christmas?  No one, that’s who.
Here is what you need {per package}:
1 orange

1/2 C. cranberries

1 T. whole cloves

3 cinnamon sticks

a smidge of grated nutmeg

There are so many cute ways you could package this up but I decided to just use a cellophane gift bag since the orange and cranberries are naturally so pretty.

I then created a tag with instructions which I am also sharing today!
{right click on image or click HERE and save to your computer}

It can be used for a good two weeks or so if you refrigerate between uses and always make sure there is plenty of water in your sauce pan.

Couldn’t be easier, right?  And it smells so so so good.

Thank you Jamielyn for having me!  Enjoy the holidays everyone!

Hi, I love this, thanks for sharing. Only problem is I cannot read the tag. It comes out very blurry. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, totally blurry for me. I tried different sizes, etc. nothing worked. But a darling idea. If the tag gets fixed, I’m definitely going to do this!

So sorry it is turning out blurry! Email me directly and I will send back the original file. That should fix it! Thanks! landeeseelandeedo (at) gmail (dot) com.

Just a note to let you know this printable still does not work.
It is very blurry and is not able to be read. I now see the other comments, but had hoped it would have been fixed by now. 12/8/2012
    Still a great idea.
