Brownie Batter Dessert Dip

I’m excited to share a dessert that’s been a hit in my kitchen – brownie batter dip. It combines the indulgence of brownies with the ease of a dip – an easy and irresistible treat!

This recipe is a perfect blend of rich chocolate flavors and creamy texture, making it a real crowd-pleaser. As tempted as I am to eat the entire bowl myself, just like my cherry cheesecake dip, sharing makes it all the more fun!

Why This Recipe Works

  • Quick & easy: You use store-bought boxed brownie mix and Cool Whip for a speedy, hassle-free preparation.
  • Rich & creamy: Cream cheese makes it irresistibly indulgent.
  • Versatile for any occasion: Talk about an easy party dessert! Perfect for entertaining, serve it anywhere from Valentine’s Day and birthday parties to Super Bowl parties and family movie night.

Brownie Dip Ingredients

  • Brownie mix: I prefer Ghirardelli or Duncan Hines for their rich chocolate flavor. Since brownie mix contains raw flour, we’re going to microwave it for a few seconds to make sure it’s safe to eat.
  • Cream cheese: Room temperature softened cream cheese blends more smoothly.
  • Cool Whip: At room temperature, to fold easily into the mix. Make your own homemade cool whip if you would like!
  • Optional Add-ins: Jazz up your brownie batter dip with some vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness. Mini chocolate chips add texture to the smooth and creamy dip.

Dip Add-Ins

I love when I can add a twist to recipes to switch things up from time to time and this brownie batter recipe is no exception! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Coffee kick: Coffee lovers can add a teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder to give your dip a mocha flavor.
  • Make it nutty: For crunchy mix-ins, sprinkle chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts on top of the dip before serving.
  • Extra sweet: Stir in some mini marshmallows, mini M&M candies, reese’s pieces, peanut butter chips, or white chocolate chips.
  • Topping: Finish the dip off with a drizzle of chocolate or caramel syrup for a little added decadence.

How to Make Brownie Batter Dip

  • Heat treatment: To make the brownie mix safe for consumption, microwave it in a bowl for 90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds. Let it cool.
  • Cream cheese base: Use a hand mixer to whip the cream cheese in a medium-sized bowl until smooth.
  • Combine: Gently fold in the Cool Whip and cooled brownie mix. If using a mixer, mix lightly to avoid deflating the Cool Whip.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the dip until you’re ready to serve.

Expert Tips

These tips will ensure your brownie batter dip recipe is a success every time you make it!

  • Heat treat: Don’t skip this step! It won’t be safe to eat otherwise.
  • Room temperature Ingredients: Make sure the cream cheese and Cool Whip are at room temperature. This ensures they blend smoothly, preventing lumps.
  • Texture: Be gentle when folding in the cool whip to keep the dip light and fluffy.
  • Serving temperature: Serve the dip chilled for the best texture and flavor.
