Healthy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
While I love a classic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, sometimes I’m looking for a cleaner alternative that isn’t loaded with sugar, butter and flour. Queue these healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
They are a healthy snack idea you can feel good about made with ripe bananas, plenty of oats and cinnamon. A few other favorite easy oatmeal recipes include homemade granola bars, chocolate peanut butter protein balls and overnight oats.
My family loved these healthy chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and never would have guessed there was no sugar added and only 50 calories per cookie.
Reasons to Love Them
- No sugar added. Absolutely no sugar used. Ripe bananas are the natural sweetener.
- 3 ingredients and 5 minutes prep. Only 3 simple ingredients: bananas, oats and cinnamon. Each guilt free healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookie is just 50 calories!.
- One bowl. Only one bowl and spoon to make these easy healthy oatmeal cookies.
Recipe Ingredients
The best part about this healthy oatmeal banana cookie recipe is that you only need 3 ingredients!
- Banana: Ripe bananas are sweeter, which is important since this recipe doesn’t use any sugar. So make sure your banana is ripe enough!
- Oats: This recipe calls for quick oats, which have a finer consistency than old fashioned oats. They also cook a little faster.
- Cinnamon: I love to add cinnamon for extra flavor. You don’t need a lot, only about 1/8 teaspoon. You can always add more if you want!
How to Make Healthy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
- Mash banana. In a medium-sized bowl, mash the banana. Then mix in salt and cinnamon.
- Mix in oats. Stir in oats and any other desired add-in’s. Mix until combined.
- Bake cookies. Place dough onto greased cookie sheet by the spoonful, then bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
Tips and Variations
- Use ripe bananas. The riper your bananas are the sweeter your healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe will be. I like to use ripe and spotty bananas.
- Favorite mix-ins: Dark chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips, pecans, dried cranberries, peanut butter, vanilla or protein powder.
- Sweeter cookies. If you want more of a true cookie, make these banana oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
- They don’t spread. Healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies won’t spread while baking. If you want them a little flatter, press on the top before baking.
- Store. I prefer to store mine in the refrigerator in an airtight container up to 5 days. You can also freeze them up to 3 months. Thaw and enjoy.

Jamielyn
Hi Barbara! You can purchase it on Amazon or on the Visalus website! :)
Karla
YOu didn’t mention how much ViShape you put in the cookies??
Jamielyn
Hi Karla! The ViShape in these cookies is optional. You can leave it out, or you can add 1-2 Tb. in your cookies! :)
Stacy
I didn’t see any Visalus on the recipe. How much did you use for the oatmeal cookie recipe? Thank you!
Jamielyn
If you want to use Visalus, I used 1 scoop, but you do not need it to make these! :)

Sorry, new to your Blog & I posted before commenting. :) I was just going to add that I make very similar cookies, except I add flax and peanut butter. They are great for a fast breakfast.

Amazing blog. I learned so many wonderful things in it. Can’t wait to try those recipes especially that I am craving for chocolate chip cookies. This is quite a different one though because it was intended to be healthier.

A few years ago I lost 35 lbs. using the Visalus products. My favorite shake was 1% milk, Tropicana 50 orange juice, 1/2 banana, shake mix and ice. Tastes like an Orange Julius. I drink a few shakes a week and have not gained any of my weight back. Definitely trying your Moo’d!
Jamielyn
That recipe sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing Ann! :)

I would like to try a sample of the Vi. I was using another product but it caused problems I don’t want to discuss here. I was told it just ridding my body of toxins. I am curious if another powder would do the same.
