Hummus Recipe

This white bean hummus recipe tastes amazing and is so creamy and delicious! It is perfect with fresh vegetables or pita chips and also makes a great spread for sandwiches and wraps. I’ve become a huge fan of hummus…it’s so flavorful and versatile and is a no guilt healthy snack. Traditionally hummus is made with chickpeas, but making this hummus recipe with white beans adds extra protein and gives it a smooth texture. I really love incorporating white beans, but you could definitely use chick peas with this hummus recipe if you’d prefer. Either way it will taste delicious and would be perfect for your next Summer gathering!

MY OTHER RECIPES

The roasted garlic in this white bean hummus recipe is what really sets it apart. It adds the perfect flavor to the dip. If you’ve never roasted garlic before, let me show you how! You can use it in so many dishes to really bring out the flavor. It’s one of my favorite (and super easy!) ways to elevate a dish.

How to roast garlic

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut the top of the garlic head off and remove the outside layer or skin.
  3. Drizzle 2 teaspoons of olive oil over top and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Cover the bulb with foil and then bake for 20-30 minutes, or until soft.

Making your own hummus recipe may sound intimidating, but believe me when I say it is super easy! Just roast the garlic and then blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth. So simple and so delicious. After making this hummus recipe, you’ll be making homemade hummus vs. store bought from now on!

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Set a small baking sheet aside.
  2. Cut top of garlic head off and remove outside layer of skin. Place on top of a piece of foil. Drizzle 2 teaspoons of olive oil over top & sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Cover bulb with foil & bake for 20-30 minutes, or until soft. Remove garlic from foil and skin.
  4. Add pine nuts to the pan and cook 3 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
  5. Combine beans, garlic, lemon juice, salt & olive oil to a food processor & blend until smooth. S&P to taste. Add more lemon juice if desired. Serve white bean hummus with your favorite vegetables or pita chip and enjoy!
