Greek Chicken Burger with Feta
Burgers are one of the first grilling recipes we make when the weather warms up. Greek chicken burgers are the perfect way to switch it up from the normal hamburger patties or turkey burgers. They are so moist and juicy with tons of Mediterranean flavor!
Just like my Greek chicken meatballs, the Greek flavors added the perfect touch to the classic chicken burger. The red peppers, parsley, red onion and feta cheese enhanced the burger while the tzatziki drizzle on top added a fresh, light taste. The best part is that this Greek burger recipe can be on the table for dinner in 20 minutes!
Ingredient Notes
- Ground chicken: Fresh ground chicken that is 93/7 is best for the homemade patties. Ground chicken breast is too dry. You could also use ground turkey.
- Red peppers: Chopped red peppers work great! You could use roasted red peppers and red onion.
- Feta cheese: If you are dairy free, you can omit this or look for a dairy free version of the crumbly cheese.
- Fresh chopped parsley: Add so much flavor and a pop of color. You could also use fresh dill.
- Seasonings: Minced garlic, salt, pepper and oregano.
How to Make Greek Chicken Burgers
Combine the ground chicken, red peppers, feta cheese, fresh chopped parsley, minced garlic, kosher salt, dried oregano and ground black pepper in a bowl then shape into burgers. The chicken mixture makes enough for 4 patties.

Grill the chicken patties on medium heat for about 4 to 5 minutes per side. The outsides should have charred grill marks and the insides should no longer be pink. You can check the temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure they’re cooked through.
We served our chicken burgers inside a flatbread with sliced red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and tzatziki sauce. SO, so good!
Ground Chicken Burger Recipe Tips
- Don’t over mix. Mix until just combined, then form into patties. Over mixing causes the burgers to dry out.
- Prevent bulging. Make a thumbprint in the middle of the each patty to keep the burgers from bulging.
- Binders. If your feel your Greek chicken burgers need additional binding, to the burger ingredients add some bread crumbs or an egg.
- Don’t flip too early. Once you place them on the grill, wait 4 or 5 minutes to move or flip them. You want them to solidify and get those beautiful grill marks.
- Grill inside or out. These can be made in the oven or on a grill pan as well. Place the burgers on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 20 to 25 minutes.
Serving Ideas
- Authentic Greek restaurant: To take these Greek burgers over the top, serve them inside homemade pita bread or naan bread.
- Bun or bunless: Serve like a classic chicken burger on a homemade hamburger bun, keep it low carb by wrapping it in lettuce.
- Toppings: Sliced red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach or lettuce, kalamata olive, tzatziki or Greek yogurt dill dip.
- Sides: Mediterranean quinoa salad, bulgur wheat salad or hummus with veggies.
