Why I Love This Recipe
- Fresh summer salad: This strawberry spinach salad is the perfect way to incorporate fresh and juicy summer berries, as well as lots of colorful greens!
- Easy to make: Whether you make it as a side dish to a family dinner, for a light lunch or to take to a summer potluck, it’s always a crowd pleaser!
Recipe Ingredients

This strawberry spinach salad is just so simple to make with the perfect combination! It is full of sweet, savory, and crunchy deliciousness. All you need is spinach, strawberries, feta cheese and sliced almonds.
My favorite dressing for this recipe is poppy seed dressing. A cilantro lime dressing or balsamic vinaigrette dressing would be great, too.
How to Make Strawberry Spinach Salad
- Place the spinach in a large bowl. Next add the sliced strawberries, cheese and nuts.
- Drizzle desired dressing over top and then toss with salad tongs. Serve immediately.
Substitutions and Variations
- Add a protein: Add grilled chicken, grilled salmon, skirt steak or chicken kabobs. For more veggies, try sheet pan veggies.
- Nuts: Instead of sliced almonds on this strawberry spinach salad try pecan pieces or candied pecans. Sunflower seeds work great for a nut allergy.
- Cheese: Instead of feta, try blue cheese or goat cheese.
- Mix-ins: Cucumbers, avocados, sliced red onions or croutons are all great!
- Serving: Pair this delicious salad with chicken Caesar wraps for an easy lunch idea!
Make Ahead and Storing
While an assembled and dressed salad is best served immediately, you can prep parts of this spinach and strawberry salad ahead of time.
Prepare all the ingredients including dressing and store individually in separate containers or individual jars in the refrigerator. When ready to assemble the fresh salad, simply toss the ingredients into a large serving bowl.
I love to make salads to enjoy at lunchtime! This summer salad recipe is a favorite as well as egg salad and my easy taco salad.
